My sister, Sarah at Scissorina, recently turned me on to what might just be the funnest photography technique ever.  It’s called “Through the Viewfinder” and it basically consists of taking digital pictures through old fashioned cameras.   Many mid-century cameras featured huge viewfinders, big enough to take digital macro shots through.  The most popular camera for TTV, from what I can tell, is the Kodak Duaflex, which has an enormous dome shaped glass bubble squre for a viewfinder.  The resulting photos come out with a touch of nostalgia.  They are speckled, over saturated, and prone to lense flares and double vision.  These unpredictable “imperfections” make each photo unique and unexpected.  If you take the time to do a little post processing you can make these shots even more dramatic.  I am really enjoying myself.  Can you tell?
